How in the goat leg does spiro get front page of the southwest times, for beating a struggling stigler team (by the way looking at the game stats gave spiro a game) and sallisaw (who just got their butts kicked out of the top ten by hilldale) get a full write-up and we don't even get mentioned. All you people who say I'm cryin' about respect, who gives a crap about respect, I just want to read about my Wolverbeasts:mad: ! As far as getting respect goes, we get that everytime we smash somebodies face and put them one step closer to basketball season.:spin:

Lol-I agree with you Smoke. I was sleeping on a couch in the ICU waiting room at St. Ed's Friday morning and I jumped up and ran down to buy the STR, the Oklahoman and the TW as soon as I got up. All I found was a microscopic piece in the Tulsa World about the game which barely mentioned Vfastv's return. It was very disappointing. Oh well in about 3 or four weeks when we are probably the only team in Sequoyah County still in the playoffs the STR has got to cover us, surely!

we get coverage in the Ardmore paper but almost no play in the big ones. If you aren't a school in the bigger cities, they really don't care about you. Not right, but that's just the way it is. :mad:

Yep the OKC paper just does write-ups on a few games every week outside the OKC area. The Shawnee paper usually has something on the Chandler game, but not always. The Lincoln County News covers all of the Lincoln county teams pretty well, it only comes out once a week on Thursdays though.

I can't really cry about the press coverage T-Seq gets. They're usually in the Tahl. Daily Press, Muskogee Phoenix, Cherokee Phoenix (monthly) & sometimes in the Tulsa World.:thumbsup:

Tell me about it! Did you see the Sequoyah County Times paper for today? It has about 2/3 page on Sallisaw, who lost, and about a 3rd a page on Gans, who also lost. Even the Player of the Week was a Gans player who just made 2 touchdowns and got 117 yards I believe. I think the Sequoyah County Times has always neglected Vian. They never even go take pictures at the games. Matt with OKSportspix is the one who gives them pictures from the games. It gets really irritating! These boys deserve some recognition...but, I guess they know their fans recognize how good they are.

I do hate the lack of press we're getting this year, but oh well. And as far as Vian not getting player of the week yet, it'll come soon. After round one we'll probably be the only team in Sequoyah County in the playoffs. If they gave our players that title now, then who would they give it to then? They only give them player of the week so they can give the school some recognition. We'll be covering the sports page come playoff time.
