i have three teams that have appeared to est. themselves as the early favorites in the district race. Henryetta, Chandler and Prague. the other five teams will battle for the last playoff spot. the battle appears to be wide open but im going to pick Morris as the fourth representative. That leaves Haskell, Holdenville, Beggs and Okemah outside looking in.

I agree...pretty much. ;) I am not convinced its a 3 way race. I would put Chandler and Henryetta as favorites with Prague a notch below. I also think Morris is a good bet for the 4th playoff spot.

just as in any other sports sometimes the matchups are critical. i wonder just how pragues wide open offense will match up with henryetta's defense. i know that henryetta's straight forward approach bodes better for chandler than the wideopen attack of pragues offense. however i feel chandler does have the more superior athletes and more of them. sometimes that can overcome matchup problems. chandler proved that even on a very down night at meeker that athletism will most times prevail. henryetta's hardnosed mentality and home field does give them an advantage over chandler. can henryetta keep up with the speed. of course a lot can happen between now and then as well. the balls sometimes bounce funny and those yellow flags can also rear their ugly heads which can alter games as well.

I think Henryetta will handle Prague pretty easily. I also feel a little differently about how Chandler will match up against Henryetta and Prague. I am more worried about getting pushed around a bit by Henryetta than out finessed by Prague. I believe Chandler has both teams out manned. Chandler will continue to improve a bunch game to game since we have lots of young players starting/contributing. Henryetta has a better chance since they get us earlier in the season. By the time we catch Prague on week 10 we may be in a class of our own just like last season. :D Starting with district play last year through the championship game Chandler outscored its opponents 475 - 60. This years team has a chance to be as good. We do not quite have the power running game we had last year but the offense should be better in other areas. Our D will end up being dominant just like last season.
Not that I care that much about rankings...but we will see !!! SHOOT, last year I don't think anyone had Chandler ranked higher than about 7 or 8 and some didn't even have us ranked...but we have the GOLD BALL.
Just from what I have seen....The only reason Chandler got off to a slow START is new QB, RB. ( we have been playing back up RB till the last game) and execution etc. After seeing the improvement, it looks like they now have the timing down and the rest of the team has learned their assigments and execute them better than at first. A lot less mistakes, penalties, no turn overs etc.
Let me remind you we only lost one game and that was to 3a Kingfisher. We played with back up RB and green QBs. Shoot last year at this time we had lost 2 games. We have speed in more positions than we did last year.
Don't forget that we have a lot of seniors that saw a lot of action last season such as Ben Casey ( made the first TD in the Championship Game) Ross Lane, Eric Freeman, Cody Waters and others... We now have our starting RB back...and our 2 starting RBs was 2n string last year and saw more action than normal for 2n string. Also we have 2 more RB as back up that have been starting the previous 3 games cause of injury.
Our QB is ( my opinion better than the one last year)... dangerous, good arm and is mobil and can run or even get the grinding yards. Let me remind you that last year our QB (did a GREAT JOB) had not played QB before even though he was a senior..but we seemed to have managed alright.
So for those who think Chandler is NO competition..welll...go ahead and think that.
OH ...WOW ! !...I've been promoted from a GEREENHORN to a FARMHAND !!!:spin: :spin: :spin: :spin:

Well since CA went to a pay site, not very many posters on it....so I at least hope that a bunch of the good posters jump over here so that we can have more activity here. It is boring in both places right now, but I expect as word gets out about OK SPORTS CORRAL that this will be the busy forum.
I'd like to see WolfCop, Chandlerfan, sportsmom56, and a bunch of the old gang on here...also wish Marv D would make more appearances. I can't think of all of the old bunch all of a sudden my mind went blank...oh well, that comes with aging..
IWhen I first signed up over there, I asked Marv D about where you was etc.

Does everyone remember Fred Sparrows? Yeah, he's back!!! hahaha! We're slowly getting everyone back, and within the next six months I think the corral will be big, like the old CA.

Yeah, I was looking earlier and it said he registered. Whether he posts like he did on CA is up to him, but I'm looking forward to some smack talking and controversy.
