Commerce football

The broken road continues to turn; the Commerce Tigers' came to an end in the state quarterfinals in 2005. Six of the last seven years, Coach Trimble's Tigers advanced three rounds into the post-season and then hit a wall. In2006, the Tigers got some gorilla-sized strenght to help break down the wall thanks to the addiditon of some former Picher-Cardin football players.

I agree...the addition of the Picher transfers should give the Tigerilla's some much needed help. I think that overrall they will improve over last years team possibly, If some kids step up and take charge!

I think the Tigers break the 4th round jinkx this year, the Picher to Picher connection pass routes looked crisp. Explain to me how you play 21 mins of the 1st half & only hand the ball to Dopp TWICE! I think a loss this early is the best thing to happen to them, but i always liked L.D. Bains idea that if you played someone up a class larger than you , that you did it 2 or 3 games into the season! This will be Commerce's year, One Team/One Dream!:clap: :thumbsup:

Are you referring to what I said? If your team wasn't trying to take out all of our seniors we would have whooped you guys worse.....maybe I am a Bully.....or maybe you're just someone who overreacts to anything posted.....well I know which one I'm going with. Don't get mad Get glad!!! I have Hornet Pride and I don't care what the score is if we won we won I really don't care about the numbers, just the fact that we won.:thumbsup: So maybe you are going to go slap the eighth grader have fun with that while remembering the entire time that you did loose in the first week and my team well we won. You won't see any one from Commerce gloating over a win at the expence of a smaller program but actually a relief that they got out with their pride intact! Could not have said that better myself.... Colcord got out with a win but what can you say.... Commerce does not try to take out any opposing team players... They got roughed up by the bigger and the stronger.... Amazaing how you can blow a 18 point lead in the second quater....

Moses I think it should read like this 2 towns 1 team 1 dream the push for the 06 State Championship

Give commerce credit for capatilizing on colcords turnovers but you do realize that colcord had 21 first downs to commerces 6. A close game yes, but colcord was never even forced to punt. they only stopped themselves in this one. by the way commerces picher connection passing game only accounted for 40 yards of offense

How many passes were thrown? And how many were missed and how many were dropped or over/underthrown? The passing game doesn't have to have large numbers to be good.

Definitely giving props to Commerce!! Excellent team!! Colcord battled back from (what I'm estimating to be) around 100 penalty yards - some we fans thought were questionable, but then we're not on the field. Colcord coaches hopefully discovered some of the weaknesses of the team (and the coaching strategy) and will correct them before next Friday.

All in all - incredible game!! True nail biter at times - we love our Colcord Hornets and yes - it's true -

First just wanted to repost that from the 2A forum over here to the A forum - best of luck to Commerce as you move through your season.

Second - please excuse guardygirl2006 - I think she's learned a little too much mouth from her momma (wonder who her momma is :o ) - although not yet when and how much. I'm sure you understand OklahomaRoses - you have a 16 year old as well. We try our best but sometimes they just do their own thing. She WILL be back on with an apology for her gloating and poor sportsmanship. I simply ask you all to remember that she is 16 and full of pride for her team that she's not yet learned to temper with good judgement.

so what do you all think about week 2 for commerce? i think that they are capable of winning this game but the Ti and the gorrilla are both going to have to come to play in this one cause it will be a long game if they dont and i also think that Dopp will need 10 or 15 shots at the ball early

I agree...Commerce is gonna have to give the ball to Dopp more! And they gotta throw more and not long balls...What happened to the short game? I think that if they can throw the short passes, along with the long ones and give the ball to Dopp more...they will be impressive and hard to stop! Thats all! Commerce played Colcord very well...Commerce turned the ball over several times and that probably proved to be the deciding factor. But overall they are propably 2 of the best teams in Class A and 2A!

I miss you Moses! We need to hang out at a game or something!

I agree we should give the ball to Dopp a little more. Lets not forget about James Sullivan and Josh Pilkington these two kids can flat move and maybe put Mikey Morgan in for a few more carries the short game would be amazaing. The passing game is gonna take two or three weeks to delevlop all in all Commerce should win out and make another deep run into the playoffs this year and maybe even contend for the State Championship

Apparently my lovely daughter thought you were saying "Go Swarm" in reference to your own team, rather than in reference to Colcord. Personally, I think Go Swarm has quite a nice buzz to it (pun quite intended) lol. :p
