So, how did everyone do? My Wolverines put the whippin' on Lincoln Christian. Yeah, we beat 'em like they stole something. In the end, I was only wondering one thing; Why were their officials calling the scrimmage? It's the first time in my years at Vian that I've seen it. So I'm under the impression that Lincoln Christian hired them to do so. Not in the sense to cheat like most might think I'm talking about, but in the sense that they wanted someone to ref the game. lol! I think our defense is looking great, and our offense is looking descent. Our running game was lacking with Vfastv not able to suit up and Scotty no able to suit up at fullback, but it looked descent. However, our passing game looked pretty slick. Seth was throwing right on target almost every time, and Londell was there to catch every pass thrown to him. However, I don't think Seth threw to anyone else enough. But I guess since Londell caught every pass, it's okay. lol!

Though we're looking good right now, I'm a little worried about Miguel starting at FB instead of someone bigger. Coach Tyler doesn't hand it to the fullback enough for speed to be a priority of power at that position, so I thought he would put in someone bigger to fill Scotty's shoes for the moment. What do you all think about this decision? I have other opinions, but for the sake of arguement and criticism I won't state them.

Our second string will probably be seeing a lot of playing time in most of the games like they did last year, and they're looking pretty good for that. I figure it'll be the entire second half for most of the games. Our second string defense was looking extra well. The offense was lokking good too.

actually miguel is the starting FB

How is that? Is he seriously better? I know the kid has talent but Scotty is much more powerful, right? Who else is contending for the spot?

President_Imposter
08-19-2006, 10:48 PM
That's the thing man, no one else is contending. Why doesn't he put in D-Way at FB? He'd be great at it.

I agree with that...He's ideal for the position.

There is no doubt Vian has a overload of good tailbacks to pick from, but the lack of a traditional type fullback concerns me. I know the kids got speed to burn but is he going to be able to clear a hole? And what about durability? Miguel speed threat will keep a defense honest, but I don't think you want someone his size taking the abuse a fullback takes all night.... He sure is fast though.:headscratch: Oh well lets see what happens at the Quah next week. I hear the NDNs might be a dangerous team this year.

President_Imposter

I've heard that every year. That's why I doubt it so much. Plus I read that Roland is supposed to be there too!!!!! Are they 4A or 3A?

Why did Vfastv not suit up? I expect huge things out of Vian, it sounds as if there are position problems at the moment, but its early...so fans dont worry! I know that Vian will be a huge contender!

In other notes, Wyandotte looked pretty impressive Friday night. The running game looked very strong, the passing game looked fair to decent, and the defense looked awesome! I know we played Ketchum who still has a young and underexperienced team, but they do have several players who have played together for a while and they looked better than they have in years! But overrall the Bears looked real good for a first scrimmage. I believe that Wyandotte Varsity scored 6 or 7 times and Ketchum Varsity scored 1 time, while the each JV scored 1 time apiece! So I think that if our passing game can improve a little bit, that we will only continue to improve!

08-20-2006, 09:01 PM
Miguel is actually stronger than Scotty. Miguel squats like 450lbs. NO JOKE!!
D-Way dosent want play FB.

CBRdrummer
08-20-2006, 09:24 PM
He needs to be a team player and do what's best for the team...but I guess if you don't want the position, you probly won't play very well in said position. I didn't know Miguel was that stout. So if Scotty doesn't get to play fullback, what will he be playing?

pughdog
08-20-2006, 09:32 PM
So what was the deal with Locust?

CBRdrummer
08-20-2006, 09:37 PM
He's still making up for excessive absences last school year. There's more but I'm not going to say what it is because I'm not sure if I should.

There is a large difference between swuatting and delivering and taking a hit, and how much punishment someone can take. And personally, I think that the player should change positions if it would better the team, hence the term "team player". If I was Coach T I'd say play FB or hit the road. Harsh, but it'd be a sure way to make him change positions. lol!

Vian RB sits but offense scores; so does Warner’s

By Stephen Schmidt
Phoenix Staff Writer

Phoenix staff report

On Friday night, Vian’s football team reaffirmed that it has more than enough offensive options to back up star running back Vfastv Locust.

With Locust sidelined from Friday’s home scrimmage versus Lincoln Christian due to a reason that Vian coach Brandon Tyler declined to specify, the Wolverines scored six times while holding the Bulldogs to one touchdown.

“It’s like I said, people can’t concentrate on one person alone,” Tyler said. “We got a lot of weapons.”

In the passing game, Vian’s Londell Taylor caught TD tosses from Seth Sloan of 5 and 25 yards.

The Wolverines added four touchdowns on the ground as Demarqua Pratt found the end zone twice to back up scoring runs from Miguel Pratt and Tyren Samuels. Miguel’s score came via a 70-yard run.

Tyler said his team was misaligned on an option play on the third play of the game, but was able to settle down after that.

“We looked good at times,” Tyler said. “We were kind of rusty at first. Once we got the rust knocked off, we looked pretty good out there.”

Vian will finish its scrimmage schedule on Thursday night against Sequoyah and Roland at Sequoyah. The Wolverines will open up their season by playing host to Seaworth on Sept. 1.

My sources tell me Vfastav may not be playing this year. Right now, he is ineligible. And may not be eligible for quite some time.

My sources ( and these are good sources, trust me ) he should have not been playing the second half of the season last year.

That's all I'm going to tell you until the investigation is complete.

Mmgord77
08-23-2006, 10:43 AM
That would be a shame! (no sarcasm intended)

You don't ever want to see that. Such a huge, bright future ahead of him and to throw some of it away!?!?!

I hope this is just some mistaken info or it's not as bad as it sounds. Once ineligible for anything other than grades, it's tough to get back.

President_Imposter
08-23-2006, 03:05 PM
Vfastv was eligable every game he played last season. Your source is a degenerate moron who doesn't know a fart from a fan. lol! Sorry, I found that mildly entertaining. lol! Our principal wouldn't allow a player to play if he was ineligable, no matter how talented or needed he is.

CBRdrummer

Trust me, the kid was eligible. Vian is very strict on eligibility...In fact, there are a few players ineligible right now just because they have library fines due. Don't worry about the Locust...he'll play...oh yes, he'll play.

Well according to my ( OSSAA Board Of Directors ) source, they were informed of allegations last year, but it was late in the year, and they were dealing with the whole Tucker Brown incident. But, had they acted on the allegations, Locust wouldn't have been allowed to play. This thing is deeper than most of you realize. The coaches and administration at Vian are not allowed to talk about it, because of the OSSAA investigation, and the internal investigation by the Vian School District.

But, I will tell you one thing. It doesn't involve "Big Red Sports and Imports."

Well according to my ( OSSAA Board Of Directors ) source, they were informed of allegations last year, but it was late in the year, and they were dealing with the whole Tucker Brown incident.

That's exactly what that was. It was alligations. I'm telling you that Vfastv was eligable all last year through football season. Other than that I wouldn't know 'cause I quit keeping track of players after football season. I know, sad that I do so, but that's just how it is. lol! Yoy say that it runs deeper than we think, and stuff like that. What I'm telling you is I know how strict how high school principal is on eligability, and if Vfastv was ineligable then he wouldn't have played. Had he played while ineligable, Coach Tyler would have been severly penalized. But Coach Tyler has more class and more sense that to let an ineligable player play. And everything, no matter what it is, gets around in Vian. Hell, most of Sequoyah County knows the business in Vian.

Dion what you are typing is called slander, there are no high school sports officials that are going to leak info about anybody to you or me so let it drop. You have zero proof of anything and what your typing has no validity. So you can tell your so-called reliable sources to shut their holes. I'm all for inforcing school law and I can assure you if we have a student in violation they will be dealt with accordingly. Don't start none, & they won't be none!

Buc Turd, Maybe a big seaming pile, but not just a turd.. Come on guys..

Look, I didn't take any cheap shots. All I said was " He wouldn't have played some last year". I never once mentioned once about what has or did take place for it to come to this point. I'm sure Vfasta is a good person, and to personally attack any person just isn't cool. I never put what information I have out there for everyone to read, frankly because I don't think it is anyones business except for those directly involved. And TRUST me when I say my sources are reliable.

Now that I have gotten to the right thread, I see nothing wrong with this conversation. Deion is giving his opinion on why Locust is out backed up a credible, named (at least his position) source. He is not alleging criminal or libelous things against the player and he has facts.

It appears Vian fans are upset at Deion's opinion. So. Thats the point of a message board.

Now, calling Deion a turd is going to far. That is a personal attack against someone for posting their opinion and uncalled for, IMO.

President_Imposter
08-25-2006, 04:20 PM
First, I've been wondering what IMO means. Care to tell me? Second, though uncalled for I'm sure everyone, including Deion, thought it was a little humerous. I found it funny 'cause I haven't heard the word "turd" since grade school. lol! Anyways, I choose to find this as false until all facts, key word is FACTS, are given. Though his allegations are credible by his source, until his alligations are proven it will remain that of alligations. :)

robotorgo

This is already getting boring. There are a lot of "sources" in Vian and most are about as reliable as a Ford Pinto. You sit around the ol campfire long enough you'll hear dirt on pretty much everyone, but take it all with a grain of salt football fiends. True or false these are still real kids with real families.
That out of the way did your hear about whats going at Washington? Apparently they have have assembled really good coaching staffs and athletes and they're bringing home hardware in everything but table tennis....they'll make a run in 2008.

If you can't keep it funny or insightful, just keep it. :soapbox:

Since no one else wants to weigh in on last nights scrimmage, here goes. I thought our offense managed to look sluggish yet still explosive. This is a very rare feet but we pulled it off beautifully. I have some major concerns about our line, especially when Roland was on the field. Scrimmage or not, 4A vs. 2A or not, Roland kinda imposed their will on us alittle. I know we're still a few people short but we didn't look very sharp on defense all night especially against a good Sequoyah quarterback. Londell looked like a man amongst boys once in the secondary. I think this could be a huge year for him. All in all Vian is still a dangerous team despite all the off the field garbage.

P.S. How'd everybody like the very vocal Indian defense getting a reality check with the ol' first play to the house scenario?

I talked to Vfastv, not about these bullcrap rumors, but to see if he was going to play against Seaworth, and he said yes. He has to finish making up his hours, and he's doing so at a great pase. That boy's tryin' his damndest to do what has to be done. So let's take it from the man himself, he will play. Therefore these alligations are worthless slander.

Well, I hope I don't "disappear" for saying this, but I cannot keep quiet any longer. I think it's high time Vian's sick little secret is exposed. VFASTV LOCUST IS AN ALIEN FROM A GALAXY FAR, FAR AWAY. According to MY reliable source, he was put here to infiltrate the ranks of Oklahoma high school football. A joint investigation by the Intergalactic Alliance and Vian Schools has been launched to determine his eligibility for this coming season. He has been sidelined pending the results of this investigation. We'll keep you posted.
