I saw this over on CA... thought it was important to put over here:
Calumet's senior captain and leading scorer Grant Hedrick lost his father early this morning in an automobile accident. Grant has had to overcome many tragedies in his life, including the death of his mother, and through it all has managed to become a very special person, and a very special athlete. I know that in small school basketball, sometimes we think winning is everything, and sometimes rivalries run deep. But in these times of tragedy, where things are bigger than basketball, I have at times been amazed at how these small communities have came together for what is truly important. I would ask that you would keep Grant, his family, his teammates, and our community in your thoughts and prayers in this difficult time. Thank You.
