NEW FOOTBALL CLASSIFICATIONS For 2010 and 2011

Shawnee and Bixby to 6A,Star and Seminole to 3A,Fairview to A etc.

As reported earlier in the FB season...add class 3A, 2A and 1A and divide by three (3). Now, ADs will have to find three non-district games; most likely playing a JV team from 6A or 5A.

This is my guess for our district...

District 5 or 6
1. Chisholm
2. Hominy
3. Newkirk
4. Pawhuska
5. Pawnee
6. Perry
7. Tonkawa

Here is interesting tidbit.The 8 Man Football Assosciation voted to up Class B to 40 instead of 36.This would allow 4 teams that are in A to drop.Possibly Geary,Merritt,Cashion and Dewar.Now will the OSSAA leave it 58,58,55 or will they re-do it where 3A,2A,and A has 57,57,57.If so Comanche would drop to 2A and Hominy and Cordell would go back to A.

Pawnee, if they're in a 7 team district they'll need four non-district games. Stroud will end up in that district you've put together or go to the OKC district. Maybe a district built along I-40.

Yep, OSSAA has revised it. Depew is the largest school to drop down to Class B. That means there were a lot of Class A schools that passed on playing 8-man football, including Morrison, which is slightly smaller that Depew. Morrison is enjoying the 11-man game now.

3A, 2A and A went 57, 58, 58. So, Comanche did drop to 2A and Hominy dropped to A, but Cordell is still in 2A.

Commerce and Quapaw got added to the 2A! So after this season someone else will reign superme in the weakest district in Class A.

It will be interesting to see how the Class 3A districts are set up, especially with the influx of former Class 2A teams. Hopefully it will get Perkins-Tryon out of the same district with Cascia Hall and Victory Christian. It would be nice to see P-T and Chandler, Prague, and Bristow renew their football rivalries.
