In the Consolation Finals of the Oklahoma's Best Tournament, #3 Pawnee Lady Bears defeat the #1 Howe Lady Lions 70-53. The Lady Bears jumped to a 18-16 lead after the 1st. At the half, the Lady Bears increased the lead by 1 with a score of 34-31. The 3rd quarter saw the Lady Bears dominate the boards and increase the lead 56-40 The final stanza saw lots of play for the second teams with the Lady Bears winning the game 70-53. Good job Lady Bears!

After spending the weekend thinking about this, I just wondered what the heck happened to Howe? They were #1 for a reason. Not taking anything away from them, but were they just so exhausted that they could not run with the Lady Bears. I know some teams hit that 3rd day of the tournament wall, but they were sucking wind by the end of the 2nd quarter. Is the play so much different around Howe? Do they play a more deliberate, grinding type of play? I had heard that there wasn't a team in Oklahoma that could run with them. I heard that from a former coach from around Howe. So, just wondered if they usually make teams play their type of ball, or if they were just tired. Anyone know anything?
