He should have his Texas team in the Cotton Bowl, not the Fiesta. I mean, Texas Tech did win the head to head. You can't count OU in there because they are in the Championship Game (just like you couldn't count Tech in the 3 way tie!). So, why so quiet down in Austin? Maybe Leach should fly some planes or pass out fliers in Texas lobbying for the BCS to switch there selections around. Tech with one loss, Texas with one loss, but Tech won the head to head...

:spin:   :lipssealed:

Tech was completly embrassed by Oklahoma! Tech beat Texas by 6! Texas beat OU by 10! That was the Computers that done that to Tech! I think they will share the title! If OU wins then it would be an OU/Texas split title! Texas is gonna crush The Ohio State Buckeyes! Chomp em Gators!

It's that poor ol' Husker pride trying to shine through...

I wish the Buckeyes spot about 40 on Texas, but I think the Longwhorns win big too. Maybe the Fiesta Bowl will rear it's ugly head like it has against OU...

I can't wait for OU to play a "real" defense... and I can't wait for Tebow to play "a Big 12 defense". We'll see how it shakes out... I know it will be fun whichever way it goes!

You have to admit...the defenses that Tebow has faced this year are statistically much tougher.

There will be no split title. Texas could win by 100 and they wouldn't get a sniff at a fake trophy.

Big12>SEC
SEC=Sucky Eastern Conference

Oh... I'll definitely give you that. I do think Big 12 defenses were down. You also have to look at the fact that there may have never been a season where one conference had such dominate offenses. Do I think some of this was due to not-so-hot D? Yes, some. Do I think the defensive rankings were do to the incredible offenses? Yes, greatly. Florida will not have seen anything like OU's offense either. That's why I think this will be a great game. OU has played against Tebow Light (McCoy), and did very good against him. OU has not played against a team with a combination of Tebow and Harvin... that will be interesting.

CAN I GET A CHOMP EM GATORS! I think the SEC is down compared to recent years! And the BIg 12 South was absoultley amazing! Any of those three or four teams could have competed very well in the SEC! Tim Tebow will have a tremendous day agaist the Sooners! Bradford will probably have a great day agaist the Gators! Iam still taking the under of 80 points! Stickiing with my prediction

Gators- 35
Sooners- 28

One more time can I get a CHOMP EM GATORS!

Too add... I think this was as down of a year in the SEC for offenses as it was for Big 12 and the defenses.

Florida has the only SEC offense that would scare anyone. OU may have the only D (in the last half of the season) in the Big 12 that would scare anyone. Yet another reason I think they got this game right.

Got this from the Animal this afternoon. The over/under for NC game is 72/73. Florida is favored by 3.

I believe Oklahoma is the best team we could possibly play this year for a national title. I think the offenses are fairly even but defense is just too much of an advantage for the Gators. Don't give me this bologna about the SEC being weak. It's not AS GOOD as it usually is but it's still the most consistently tough conference there is, period. The Big XII looks good because they had one of those once in a lifetime years where three of their teams are national title contenders. Usually, that's a yearly thing in the SEC. Don't tell me you're better because you had one good year.

CHOMP EM GATORS!

OKLAHOMA?! GATOR BAIT!

Only 3, drummer? Okie State would likely have placed in the top 5 of the SEC as well. They were dangerously close to beating Tejas and Tech at their place you know. ;)

Truth is, besides Tebow, the SEC was woefully inept at QB and offensive output in general. Alabama's QB was very subpar who relied on old fashioned Nebbish ball to win its games. His lack of throwing prowess showed when it came time to play catch up. Other than those two teams, there isn't much to talk about when considering the SEC.

The special teams advantage definitely goes to Florida. A blocked kick or kick return could be OU's undoing.

There is no conference in the nation that has better quarterbacks than the Big XII. Three are in the running for a Heisman, you can't beat that. I think Bradford deserves to win it, but it's an honor to have Tim Tebow in the mix, and probably in second. There's no dispute here, you have the best quarterbacks this year. We may never see a better trio of gunslingers like these three. But, c'mon, is that really what matters? Only one of them is going to the title game. And, if you believe in the Heisman curse, you might not want Bradford to win anway.

I have no doubt that OK State would have been a contender in the SEC. But, that's another thing that isn't the norm. They're not consistent. Maybe they'll be good next year too, but how often does that happen? Once again, my point is that the SEC is consistently tough. Texas and Oklahoma are always in the mix but when have we seen Texas Tech or Oklahoma State really make a case other than this year? The SEC almost always has tough teams in Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, LSU, Alabama, and Auburn. Heck, even Vanderbilt is starting to stand up to its SEC brethren! The Big XII is this year's best conference. But, you've only got competition in the South. Will it happen again? Probably not for a long time. This year, Alabama and Florida are tops in the SEC. Although the conference wasn't as top-to-bottom great as we've come to expect, I'd still wager that this year's champion will be a team that calls the SEC "home". And Alabama, I think the only other team that can beat them is Oklahoma, maybe. Texas' loss to Texas Tech was a fluke in my opinion. I think that if they played the game 10 times, Texas would win 9. And, if Oklahoma had another shot at Texas, they'd probably win 7 or 8 out of 10.

I do think that the championship game finally has the two best teams in the nation playing against each other...finally. By no means do I think that Florida will walk all over Oklahoma. I do, however, believe they will win. It's going to come through special teams and, more importantly, defense. The only edge I can see in this game for Oklahoma is that explosive offense. But, it's only a slight edge and I'm being nice. Florida has averaged about 45/game on much better defenses. This game has the potential to be close, but I feel confident.

I've been waiting for this game since 7th grade. :)

That "Special Ed Conference" has more football national championships than you, has won four of the last ten (because it has only been in four), and is set to bring home another in less than a month.

What has your conference done lately?

I believe the last time Oklahoma played at NC game agaist the SEC was Nick Saban and the LSU Tigers! In which the Sooners were beaten! So the Sooners dont fare very well agaist SEC! Arent the Sooners 1-2 in NC games! Stoops won that title with JOhn Blake's recuirting class! He is 0-2 with his teams! CHOMP EM GATORS

Spoken like a true aggie.

Btw, have you seen the talent level of the up and coming Sooners? The redshirt freshman alone would be starting for most other college teams. The Sooners are poised to always be in the mix.

Btw again. CBR, without the Tide, over the long haul the SEC wouldn't have much to talk about when considering national titles.

Bama hasn't won a single championship since the BCS started. Tennessee, Florida, and LSU all have. I'd say that's a pretty good mix.

MOS! No way OSU takes the Horns. Come on, give Mack's boys a little credit. I'm hoping McCoy wins the Heisman curse and Bradford is healthy for Jan 8.

Second, I agree. Love to see USC and Texas.
