It was as expected a great game. Congratulations to Pocola. They are an excellent team. They are fundamentally sound, play great full court man-to-man in your shorts defense and they shot the ball very well. They deserve their high ranking.

Coalgate was very nervous to start the game and ended up getting down 12-3 halfway through the first quarter. They settled down and ended up losing 58-52. So they outscored Pocola by three in the last 28 minutes. However you play 32 minutes and Coalgate took the loss.

Coalgate had two chances to tie or take the lead in the last minute but missed two good looks at three pointers and missed a good look from the free throw line to tie. To their credit, Pocola took advantage and made the shots they needed to make.

Konanwa handled Warner easily so Coalgate plays Konawa for the third time since February 14 and a re-match of the Regional Championship. The last two games were at Konawa and both very much in doubt into the Fourth Quarter. Coalgate won them both, but everyone knows how hard it is to beat a team three times. Konawa is coming off two wins and Coalgate a tough loss. However Konawa is playing their third game in three days. It should be another good one for a trip to State.

Wildcats win 53-45 and advance to State for the first time since 1958.
Konawa gave a good effort but were just out of gas. The Wildcats were pretty awful in the first half shooting 7 for 23 and 1 for 9 from three point land. Also had 10 turnovers. Even so they led by 2. Konawa only scored 2 points in the third and the Wildcats built a nine point lead and Konawa did not have enough in the tank to mount a comeback. They got within 5 a couple of times but the Wildcats played good defense and made their freethrows to secure the win.
