CHICAGO - McDonald's Corp. faces at least three lawsuits claiming the fast-food giant misled the public after it acknowledged earlier this week its french fries contain milk and wheat ingredients.

Debra Moffatt of Lombard, Ill., seeks unspecified damages in a suit filed Friday in Chicago. Her attorney, Thomas Pakenas, said his client has celiac disease, which causes gastrointestinal symptoms set off by eating gluten, a protein found in wheat.

Jack Daly, McDonald's senior vice president, said in a statement the company had not reviewed the case yet and is testing its fries for gluten through a food allergy research program at the University of Nebraska.

Mark and Theresa Chimiak of Jupiter, Fla., sued Friday in Florida, claiming their 5-year-old daughter has an intolerance to gluten and became seriously ill after eating the fries. Nadia Sugich of Los Angeles sued Wednesday, saying she eats no animal products and would not have eaten the fries had she known they contained dairy ingredients.

McDonald's, based in Oak Brook, Ill., said Monday that wheat and dairy products are used to flavor its fries.

Before its acknowledgment Monday, the company had quietly added "Contains wheat and milk ingredients" to the french fries listing on its Web site.

Hey, I once got a triple thick vanilla shake at McD's and spilled it in my lap....it was VERY cold....I'm talking extremely cold! I shrilled in a loud voice, damaging my vocal chords...I can't sing worth a flip now. Not to mention the pain and extreme discomfort of having a quart of frozen refreshment dumped in my lap! There was no warning on the cup. How was I to know that it would be that cold? No where on that cup does it give a caution that the contents are below freezing. Not only that....but those dang triple thick shakes WILL make you fat! I'm not even kidding. I've had to practically kill myself at the gym to overcome McD's plot to make me gain weight. No warning about weight gain from Large Triple Thick Vanilla Shakes either. It's a conspiracy I tell ya.

So what do you guys think? Have I got a case? lol.

This world gets a little stanger every day. "Let's forget the drive thru wedding, I can't ever understand what they say on that dang little speaker....let's go inside to get married."

Ohio Couple Marry at McDonald's
AP
FAIRBORN, Ohio (March 1) - Do you take this man -- and do you want fries with that?

An Ohio couple got married this week under the golden arches. They exchanged their vows at a McDonald's near Dayton where they work together and met three years ago.

Trisha Lynn Esteppe says she and Tyree Henderson couldn't imagine a more romantic spot to hold their wedding. So, Monday afternoon they walked down a white aisle laid on the restaurant's floor. They had a traditional ceremony -- not far from the counter where customers continued to place their orders for Big Macs and Chicken McNuggets.

They were married by the Reverend James Hartman, who says his first fast-food wedding was "just wonderful."

:rambo: :headbanger: Was Mcd's the cateror for this affair or did the brides parents go all out for their little princess and use KFC/Taco Bell ?
