There is much sports radio talk about the actions of Ladainian Tomlinson in the AFC championship game.
Deion Sanders has said publicly "If he doesn’t have surgery in the off-season, that means he quit his team in the championship".
What do you guys think?
I didn't spend a lot of time watching the game. It was on (HD btw - LOVE IT), but I didn't think the Chargers had a prayer of winning. I noticed LT seating on the bench "disconnected" with other players. Helmet on & unemotional. I just thought he was disappointed that he couldn't contribute. That was my take. He's never been to "media friendly". That's just his style.
This subject has sparked many call-ins on sports radio. By my guess, about 75% of the call-ins thought LT actions were bad. They thought he should have been more engaged with his teammates & the game.
Again, what do you think?

I agree with sanders. I mean if you are not going to have surgery on it why didnt you play. It couldnt of been that bad. I figured LT wouldve played anyways injury or not... O well.

The guy is pretty quiet and stays to himself. He's not the emotional cheerleader on the sidelines, or on the field.
I believe his latest commercials have been developed to help his image toward the fan base. When you think about LT, it's Great RB! Strong, changes direction like Barry Sanders. A franchise player.
With all of that, you have to be media friendly. I don't think that's in LT's makeup. He may be camera shy, or just a private person. Who knows. . .
My take: He screwed up by being "disengaged" from the others. Now, the injury may have halted is play for the game. I can accept that. Remember, franchise player - he has more years in the tank. But, he should have at least stood by the other players & talked to his backup during the game. Deion (Sanders) just took his statement a little too far "quitting on his team". I wouldn’t go that far. . . .

I think it's goofy to call out the NFL's leading rusher for not being tough. Can those two really go together.
You have to remember, the backup for LT would start on about 3/4 of NFL teams. If you are not even close to 100% and the good backup behind you is... why would you go? And, it's not like he didn't try to go.
I'll give you that his pouting on the sidelines was kind of goofy. But, this team has been that way. As Bill Simmons (ESPN.com) put it, I could see this team getting into a brawl with each other in the locker room. They seem to be intense and focus that, sometimes, on each other.
I also think it's comical that Deion Sanders (The guy that trademarked how to whiff on tackles to make it look like you really tried, when you didn't really want to make a big hit) called him out. Just struck me as funny!

This is some guy to be calling someone out for toughness. Agreed you'd like to see him involved but sitting out with his helmet off is his and the team's business. This is pro ball, not high school or college. It doesn't need cheerleaders.

I'm OK with him not playing if he's hurt. But, sitting on the bench and not on the sidelines rooting on other players in not acceptable.
I LT a team player or a primadona. Last week, by sitting on his doufe, and not yelling for his teammates made him a 'primadonna'.

Passion Bucket! LT needs to find his Passion Bucket and fill it full. Then, he will be jovial and his pride will shine threw :)
I think Dan Patrick is on to something here . . . Passion Bucket, will it stick :headscratch:
