From Newsok.com:
Super showcase: The season hasn't started yet, but Saturday, Norman High will host a collection of girls basketball talent to rival a state tournament. The Norman girls will hold a "Super Scrimmage” that features nine teams — two of which are defending state champions — and five that made the state tournament last year.
Norman, Midwest City, Del City, Bishop McGuinness, Tulsa Union, Woodward, Enid, 2A champion Washington and 2007 3A champ Sequoyah-Tahlequah will compete in the event, which will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Each team will play four games.
A bevy of the state's best players will be on display, including Kansas signee Angel Goodrich of Sequoyah-Tahlequah. Other standouts include Norman's Sasha King, Ashley Bruner and Lacy Ramon; Tulsa Union's Lindsay Palmer; Del City's Porschea Jeffries and Desiree Jeffries; Washington's Krista Beaty and Ashton Pittman; Woodward's Carli Covalt; McGuinness' Mary Beth Renz; Enid's Dysyan Malone; and Midwest City's Richa Jackson.
"That's why we're calling it a ‘Super' scrimmage,” Norman coach Matilda Mossman said. "That is a lot of really good teams and really talented players. It's going to be exciting.”
