VIAN - The Gore girls closed their regular season on a high note, outscoring Vian in every quarter for a 60-44 win on Tuesday night.
The Lady Pirates moved to 15-7 overall and 10-4 in the Big Eight Conference by building a 10-point halftime lead and hanging on for the victory.
Senior guard Whitney Mannon led the way for Gore with a team-best 16 points while Kera Smith joined her in double figures with 11. Kaylene Megehee added eight, Macy Moseley eight and Paige Mannon seven.
Leigha Girty pumped in 17 points to pace the Lady Wolverines. Tara Smith netted another 11 and Ashley Hooper had five for Vian, which closed the regular season at 6-16.
Gore jumped out to a 16-9 lead in the first quarter and stretched its advantage to 27-17 by the break.
