A repeat title wouldn't come easy for Anadarko in a deep 4A field.

Area I
Area favorites Elgin and Anadarko definitely have some company at the top but draw the early favorite nods to reach state, heading into the postseason. Fifth-ranked Elgin probably has the more difficult road, even though the Lady Owls will have their first two playoff contests at home. The second of those could be against 10th ranked top contender McGuinness and high-scoring sophomore Mary Beth Renz. If the Lady Owls manage to win that one, they could be facing old nemesis in a very interesting region final. Anadarko meanwhile has been sliding a bit of late but appears to have a pretty good draw in regional action with no other possible opponent currently ranked.

Area II
You're not going to find a much tougher area field with seven of the Top 18 teams in the state rankings battling for just two slots. The favorites are clear but many of the top contenders could and will likely make a serious challenge. Second-ranked Deer Creek and third-ranked Metro Christian get the favorite nods, but both face some big obstacles before a possible mega-showdown for the area crown. Deer Creek will likely see seventh-ranked Glenpool in an incredible regional opener. Dewey and Collinsville could also meet in the other half of the regional. Metro might have a little easier time, but not by much. The Lady Patriots could see 18th ranked Inola in round two and then 16th ranked Jay.

Area IV
Fourth-ranked Fort Gibson has plenty of size and depth to make a run at the gold ball but the Lady Tigers better be ready right off the bat with a very dangerous Muldrow team coming to town for district. Victory Christian might have the best player in the area in standout senior post Hannah Spanich and will be looking for her to carry much of the load initially. Top contender Roland has lost just three times this year, but much like Muldrow, might have to go win at Fort Gibson to make a strong charge through area.
