OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Rookie point guard Chris Paul returned to the starting lineup for the New Orleans Hornets on Wednesday night after missing three games with bruised ribs.

New Orleans coach Byron Scott said he expected to limit the minutes Paul played against Portland. He leads all rookies in scoring (16.2), assists (7.7), steals (2.2) and minutes (35.7).

He also had a stiff neck after colliding with Seattle's Nick Collison and falling hard to the floor on Feb. 8. Speedy Claxton started in Paul's place the past three games and averaged 17.3 points and 9.7 assists as the Hornets went 3-0.

Scott said he also expected Paul to take part in the Rookie Challenge game on Friday and the skills challenge on Saturday as part of the NBA's All-Star weekend.

Lets make one thing clear. I hate pro basketball because it has become everything distant from the Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, Dr. J kind of days. However, I'm intrigued by the Hornets and their above average play. Without a doubt, the Oklahoma venue(crowd support) has improved their status. Who would have known. Sooner and Aggie support together. :headbanger:
