I think they will be better by the end of the season then the team two years ago that won state. Here is a link to an article in the Stillwater Newspress from last nights game.

I think they may give OCS a run for their money. It all depends on how their low post/rebounding game is. Last year, that's what ended up costing them a little.
OCS is not the team of the last couple of years. Still at the top of 2A, yes. But pretty much unbeatable, like the last two years, NO.

I agree. I got to watch OCS the other night against Verdigris. Verdigris and Pawnee are A LOT alike. Pawnee's post play is much improved from last year and will only get better as the season progresses.

Low post/rebounding got 49 points by the mix of put backs, tip-ins and free throws.
JR-Blaine Wensler 22, (he runs the floor but is one of the kid pounding the boards.)
SR-Manny Abington 8, (you gotta see this kid play - more than a rebounder but one of the better assist kings on the team)
JR-Chace Green 7,
SR-Jonas Lyons 7, (more rebounding last year but is now playing guard position.)
JR-Kyle LeGrand 4,
JR-Matt Ross 1

I have to say regarding this game.......
1. The Black Bears played very well and did a great job!!!
2. I have never in my life seen officiating like that!!!
3. The Hominy coach is something else!!!
4. Manny Abington showed an extreme amount of good sportsmanship after being shoved to the ground!!! I think anyone else might have came up swinging. (Let alone how many rebounds this kid pulled down!!!! Great job on the boards too Manny!)
I think Manny just needs to know how much the fans appreciate the way he handled this situation! GREAT JOB!!!

If I were Pawnee fans, I would be so excited about his 22 the other night. Get a solid #2 scorer beside Page and a group that battles down low and can scrap a few boards, and I would probably go ahead and list the Bears as "unbeatable".

That kid has really improved since last year. He has started these first three games.
He will have to continue to improve and work to keep his starting spot. There are two or three kids that can start off the bench right now. The competition in practice will help everyone. Also, these boys seam to mesh well here at the first of the season.
Everyone will have to continue to work hard. . . .

Yeah the Hominy coach is something else. Sure is a lot you can do when a team is that good. Hominy is 3-1, and they have had some success in the coaches time there. One bad game when playing a team that good doesn't spell a good night
