Area I
After dealing with injuries most of last season, top-ranked Washington appears to be healthy this time around to begin the quest for a return to the championship throne. The Lady Warriors are one of the favorites in Area I along with seventh-ranked Amber-Pocasset. Washington, however, could see a couple of interesting tests in regionals, although it will be on their home floor.

One of the best district matchups anywhere has 14th ranked Walters visiting 18th ranked Healdton. The winner is then likely rewarded with Washington. Am-Po meanwhile has no easy task in district, having to go on the road to a dangerous Velma-Alma squad. Look out for Oklahoma Christian, which has flown under the radar most of the season. The Lady Saints are fresh off an upset of previously unbeaten Oklahoma Bible and head into the postseason with plenty of momentum.

Area II
A pair of one-loss favorites highlight the Area II field in fourth-ranked Preston and fifth-ranked Oklahoma Bible. OBA didn't get any breaks with one of the toughest regional brackets around, including top contenders Crescent and Hinton. Those two should square off in a hotly contested regional opener at Crescent with OBA likely facing the winner for the regional crown. Preston meanwhile will have its first two contests at home before a possible showdown with 11th ranked Dale for the region championship.

Area III
Defending state champ Oktaha tops the Area III bracket along with surprising Afton. The two favorites could be on a collision course for an area championship matchup, although there are a few obstacles in the way. Oktaha could see a talented Salina squad in the first round of regionals and then likely face top contenders Hulbert or Porum for the title on Saturday night. Afton has a favorable draw but will have to watch out for a proven Foyil squad that could make some noise after a tough, injury-plagued regular season.

Area IV
Third-ranked Pocola and sixth-ranked Coalgate each have one loss and garner the favorite roles in a very tough area bracket. Very tough for the fact that three of the top eight teams in the current rankings will be battling along with several other clubs for just two state tournament slots. Despite being undefeated until last week, Pocola didn't get much of a break in the playoff draw. The talented Lady Indians will likely get a solid Haworth squad in the region opener and then with a win have to travel to eighth-ranked Warner for the regional finals.

Watch for Latta and Wewoka, both of which have already pulled a few surprises this season, and have the talent to make a long playoff push.
