okeene wins because pawnee does not have the secondary to stop okeene passing game

I think Rice, Green, and Ellis might have a few things to say about that. If you don't believe them, ask Talahina how well their passing game worked against these boys. It will no doubt be a huge game and a tough one, but I will be pulling for the Black Bears till the buzzer!!!!! GO BEARS!!!!!!

Correction, Pawneesports, it is Coach Wardlaw and sons too. Brady's younger brother Brock is a starting receiver and linebacker. He is just a sophomore but one tough player.

No, I don't video for the team. I video all the games for my brother and a few of the players and make DVD's. We have the complete 2004, 2005 football seasons on DVD. We will have 2006 also. His freshman year I just vidoed while he was playing. I do the same with basketball for them. It has been suprising how often he will watch games from previous years. He came home yesterday after film and asked if we had a specific game so he could watch it.

Pretty much what I have done in the past...these last two have been in the booth with the radio - 105.1 Stillwater. If I wasn't in the booth, I would be filming. What software to do you use or do you transfer it directly from your VidCam to DVD?

Before this year we had a Mini-DV camcorder, so I started using Roxio EMC 7.5 to make the DVD's. I do game specific menus, picture of the team on the menu background. We wore out the camcorder recording a game every week, 2 or more during BB, and then capturing it on the computer. So now we have a Sony SR-101 HD camcorder and we've upgraded to Roxio EMC 9, previous versions didn't do widescreen. I've used other programs to make DVD's; Ulead, Adobe Premier, some Sonic DVD builder that came with the computer, but I don't like them as well.

PawneeSports, So how early do I need to get to Pawnee Friday to get a decent place to video from? Or Would there be any way you could go mark off a spot for me, preferably top row 50 yd line.:D

PawneeSports
11-19-2006, 11:46 AM
You could probably get into the booth...if you and your family plan to leave early and pick up a bite before the game.

My recommendation would be to try Click's Steakhouse (call for a table reservation early 918-762-2231). Other choices are Sonic (fast), El Tapitos (Mexican), Simple Simons (Pizza, deli sandwich), RanchBurger (Variety), Honest John Fibbers (Variety), Snak-n-Pak (Pizza or Chicken) or the football concession.

Arrive in Pawnee about 5:00PM and take an hour and a half to have dinner, get to Memorial Stadium about 6:30PM. It will fill up fast - school doesn't open the gates until then during the playoffs.

Does Pawnee have an area for elderly/handicap to pull their cars down around the field? I can not remember, or is your only option to park in the parking lot and walk in, and if your visitor, walk all the way around?

If you have a handicap pass, you may drive into the north gate by the field house. Please be sure to show the Lions Club members your auto pass. Also, leave handicap pass visible while parked.

Also, please contact Pawnee Schools to get complete validation on what I have posted. I'm posting this because my parents have used this method in the past. I do not know the "School Policy" on handicap parking. However, I positive Pawnee Schools will be more than happy to accommodate all handicap visitors.

Our home stands have a wheelchair ramp and platforms (North end of stands). Please come - You are Welcome in Pawnee!

This game Friday night will be the ultimate Class A match up. Both of these teams have had great seasons thus far. Whoever wins this one will definitely have earned the victory. Looking forward to this match up. The excitement is already eating at me. I can only imagine what I will be like come Friday.

Back from a 8 hour drive from the Cornhusker School...NU. A really nice campus and boy was it windy.

Some media outlets are talking about this game being the State Championship...for selling papers but game will be decided on the field. My prayer is that everyone makes it safe to/from Pawnee on Friday.

I hate to say it being a A-6 fan but I think okeene is going to win this game. I'm not going to jump out here and say its going to be a blowout or a close one cause I really don't know. I think Okeene is the best team in class A this year. They are the most balanced offensive team in the state. You can't line up and say i'm going to stop the run because they will kill you with the pass. Same goes for dropping people back for the pass they'll just run it down your throat. As for pawnees secondary yes they are good but they have not played anyone that can throw the ball like okeene. Size at the wide reciever postion will be the main factor in this game.

So you mean, Hominy could not throw the ball well? Or, Woodland does not have a good passing attack?

I believe Hominy & Woodlands QBs are some of the best in Class A. As for receivers, Hominy and Woodland has great receivers.

I think the Black Bear defense matches up well with Okeene. I've seen all three teams, yes - I'm a homer, but speed will get you every time. Advantage – Black Bears:spin:

treedog113

Yes hominy and woodland can throw the ball but okeene is in a whole diffrent level. you take speed i'll take speed and size. they got not one but two recievers over 6'4" if im not mistakin both corners are like 5'7' and they safty is not alot taller. Yes they are fast but when the ball is higher than they can reach their is not much that can be done.

Wasn't Crawford 6' 3"? He was also pretty fast. . .
Isn't Harrison 6' 2"? I think he has great speed. . .Big too!

dude bo is like 5'11" and a great route runner not fast. and when owens had time to find crawford he was killin you.

like i said when he had time and i think okeenes line is much better than either of the two you have mentioned. And both of those teams are more one dimentional. Its pretty easy to defind something you know is coming

I think that this is going to be a very tough game. This game is pretty much a toss up to me. I think that I will have to give the edge to Pawnee at home though.

elk3730
11-20-2006, 11:06 PM
I agree, Okeene's line has good size and seam to be physical. Also, you mentioned something important. . ."if you know what is coming"

Owens gave away "keys". 14 out of 17 times, he gave up a key to whom was getting the pass. Also, he gave away keys on a rush play - It was pretty obvious.

I won't say what keys were given by Woodland. That wouldn't be fair to Woodland. They are still in the hunt.

Okeene has tendencies, also. Hopefully, we can capitalize upon those and use them to our advantage.

Elk3730,
I understand you don't have many visitor stands. Okeene really follows their teams. I would venture to say we had more fans in the stands at all of our away games this year than the home team did except maybe the Beaver game and then it was pretty even. I also understand they don't open the gates until 6:30. Is all this info correct?

elk3730
11-22-2006, 08:07 AM
Yes, our visitors stands are nothing to cheer about. . . .:( . Seating is limited and you will want to bring your blankets & seat cushions.

We have additional seating close to the South end zone, on Pawnee's side. However, I really believe "you" will want a 50 yard line seat (Most parents do!;) ).

The gates will open @ 6:00. If you're 15 minutes early, I don't think it's that big of a deal. . . .

We have a good concession stand but, there is a great Steakhouse in Pawnee (Click's). Better come early for the steak. Also, we have Mexican - El Tapito's.

I hope you enjoy your trip and Welcome to Pawnee!

The views are a little tough from the endzone. That tends to be where our students (Washington) gathered last year. It was full up and the stands were mainly for parents and grandparents. It can be a pretty loud place to watch a game though, if the visitors fill the stadium. Pawnee always brings their crowd and I can't imagine it would be much different for this big of a game.

The Whippets are a tough team as well. They will not give up without a fight. The Black Bears better get ready to be attacked by a pack of dogs.
Looking forward to a bear and dog fight to the end. See you tomorrow.

What did you think of the Okeene Whippets crowd? I said earlier our fans really follow their teams. Your crowd almost exceeded the Pawnee vs Tonkawa (district game) in 2004. It was an awesome atmosphere for a quarter-final playoff game...I wished we would have had some like that during the regular season-Woodland was close. The eastside was all baby powder blue-awe so sweet. LOL

I'm not so happy that we had to me so early in the playoffs...this matchup should have been in the semis or the finals. But that's part of bracketing and nothing to do with anybody-it's done prior to the season without knowing what will really happen.

Congratulations to the WHIPPETS! Now, I can say I have seen a real whippet...both on and off the field. By the way, the dog was a nice addition. LOL
