The Carnegie Wildcats are a tradition rich basketball team. They are coached by Carnegie graduate Kirk Graham, who did his student coaching under former Carnegie coach Doug Schrumpert, while in Carnegie. Schrumpret is now head coach in Anadarko.
Unsure of how deep the Wildcats will make a run this year the future look promising. Tanner Kelly a multi-talented player along with Denton Schuermann are two of the seniors leading this young team. Ethan Candyfire, a 6'4" freshman is only one of the building blocks to the future. Others that will be sure to be there in the future are Brock Marshall, a 6"1" freshman that brings awesome court vision and good ball handling skills, and Randy Berryhill a 5'5" freshman that is an excellent court general also with good ball handling skills and isn't afraid of the big guys.
Carnegie has moved up and down in the rankings with their schedule this year containing a mixture of classes. I find it interesting how they can easily win against a 4A team and struggle with those in lower classes. Many are waiting to see how they handle the playoff events.
Carnegie's last scheduled regular season game is Feb. 14th against Frederick @ home. I wish the Carnegie Wildcats Good Luck in the Playoffs.
