EDMOND (Feb. 2) -- Josh LeadingFox (20-5) overcame an old nemesis with a clutch last-match comeback that vaulted No. 3-ranked Central Oklahoma to a dramatic 19-18 triumph over fifth-rated Nebraska-Kearney Thursday night at Hamilton Field House in a showdown of NCAA Division II wrestling powers.
The fifth-ranked LeadingFox had lost three of four previous meetings with No. 2 Tervel Dlagnev and trailed 3-1 in the heavyweight bout after a Dlagnev takedown with 43 seconds left. LeadingFox escaped at 0:36 and got the go-ahead takedown at 0:27, then managed to control Dlagnev the rest of the way for the 4-3 victory that lifted the Bronchos from an 18-16 deficit to the thrilling one-point win.
